Complaint: Need to slam door hard to engage second catch.

The door discussed here is identified by the single bolt that attaches the “Pos-a-loc” to the coach:

If your door has this configuration, it is what PTL refers to as a Preferred Door.

Here‟s what I did (Refer to the last page, which is an instruction I received from Jason at PTL 810 664-2310):

1. Remove striker plate and bolt (removing the stainless steel striker plate turned out to be unnecessary). What is revealed is the “mov-a-bolt” assembly.

2. Access to this assembly is under the inside grab handle.

3. Remove the bottom three screws from the wooden grab handle and loosen the top screw. Swing the handle aside to see the cover plate.

4. Remove the cover plate and the six screws holding the assembly.

5. Slide the mov-a-bolt assemble out.

6. There are two-star cams; front and back. Mine was covered with old clear tape. Locate the reference hole.

7. Remove the 3/8” pin and the mov-a-bolt block, mine came out easily.

8. Tap on both star cams until they drop out. Rotate them and tap them back in, it helps to remove any bits of tape. Refer to the reference from PTL below to determine which direction to rotate them. One direction pulls the door tighter.

9. Reassemble and test; we can now close the door even from the inside without having to slam it. We‟ll have to wait to see if we get excessive wind noise going down the road. Be careful not to over tighten the screws holding the wooden grab handle.
