Testing Thermister on Refrigerator Fins

  1. Unplug Thermister from circuit board & measure resistance across the 2 wires according to the chart below.
  2. The temperature in the refrigerator should tell you the resistance reading.
  3. Measure Thermister wire to Ground and it should read “Infinity”
  Temp in Refrigerator   Resistance
  28 Degrees = 10.7K
  30 Degrees = 9.9K
  32 Degrees = 9.2K
  34 Degrees = 8.6K
  36 Degrees = 8.1K
  38 Degrees = 7.6K
  40 Degrees = 7.1K
  42 Degrees = 6.9K
  46 Degrees = 6.2K
  50 Degrees = 5.6K

Testing 110 VAC Burner Element

  1. Remove Element wires from J7 & J8.
  2. Put Voltmeter probes across J7 & J8 & have someone push Refrigerator “Eyebrow” Temperature Control from 1 thru 5 & you should read 110VAC when it sends a signal to turn on 110VAC element.
  3. If that is working then you need to test the 110VAC element.
  4. Connect the 2 wires you removed from J7 & J8 to a 2 prong male 110VAC plug that you can pick up at any hardware store.
  5. Plug it into 110VAC outlet.
  6. This will bypass the circuit board & tell you if the element is working or not.
  7. If the element is working it will start to cool the refrigerator.
